Just some IMPT Updates!!

Cmp is on the 17th and 18th. Next week WEDNESDAY is Camp breifing! 6pm outside clubroom. Its compulsory and very very impt. Those who have collected the indemnity forms today pls return them SIGNED by this friday. Those who havent collected it pls text me and meet me at the clubroom tomorrow (thursday 8th july).

There will be a play on the 25th of July. Yippeee a PLAY! It is on a sunday. Its at 3pm. At the Woodlands Community Club Theatrette. Please keep your 25th free for the play and inform us to get the tickets for you!

Also yr1s and yr2 will have to keep this tuesday free for Flashmob practice on from 6-9pm. Yr3s if you are free and able to make it. Pls also try to make it :)

Hey guys!!! First of all these are the people chosen for ClubCrawl Committee. PHanisah, Humairah and Luqman. Congratulations!!!! There is a meeting with Madame President and Vice President at clubroom 6pm wenesday. Compulsory. It is to meet the other committee members and to brief you guys about ClubCrawl.

Secondly, i am not sure if my sms got to everybody! We are having a performance on the 20th and 21th of march. 20th march : 1-2.30pm slots 21st march : afternoon
Its for PUB World Water Day. It is a outside school event at the Marina Barrage. Rehearsals will start on Wednesday. The script will be sent to you tomorrow (Tuesday). Hazwan will brief you all on the script on Wednesday. A few replied saying that you cannot make for the performance. Those who have yet to tell me if you can commit to the performance pls tell me ASAP which is by tomorrow 6pm.

Thirdly, drama will officially start this Saturday. Rehearsals for PUB will be after drama. :)

Fourthly, We are holding singing auditions it will be on Friday and SATURDAY Night. This is for Symphonia in June. Symphony Orchestra need singers for their performance in the Victoria theater. They will be singings songs from Dream Girls, Phantom, You Raise Me Up, Moon River, Girl from Ipanema and Dancing Queen. The audition is also for our VERY IMPORTANT production. For those who are interested in the auditions PLEASE!!! PLEASE message me or email me by wednesday for the details of the auditions.

Fifth thing to take note! We will be collecting 3 dollars from each member by this week at drama. If you know that you cant make it this week for drama pls try to pay me or wan any of the days in this week. If you do not pay i am very sorry but you wont be able to go for the BBQ. You dont want that!! Cause the BBQ will be awesome fun!! TRUST ME!! Details are as follows. You MUST keep that day free!!! MUST!!

TMT DSLR WORKSHOP

Hello people! Hope all of you guys had fun studying for exams *inserts sarcastic face here, i hear ya*. To those of you still suffering, too bad. But those of you who are free, I need you guys to come down this Friday for a special TMT workshop (those of you double agents in TMT might know what this is all about).

Well for those who don't, listen up. Our friends at the Theatre Management Team are having a special workshop on how to use a Digital Single-Lens Reflex camera, or in other words, DSLR. To those of you interested in photography (well who isn't these days) or just want to know how it feels like to operate a DSLR, you might want to attend this session. Cameras are provided free for the workshop, courtesy of Canon.

So, those of you who are able to make it this Friday, 5th March 2010, from 2 to 5.30 pm, drop either one of your drama heads a text. For those of you who are unable to make it, make sure you have a very good reason (of course inform us). Please let us know latest by tomorrow (Monday).

As for drama sessions, we just want to let you know that they will most probably resume on 13th March, 2010, so guys, keep your calendars checked.

Hey our darling year 1s going on year 2s!!! Wow!! This is so surreal! Firstly Hazwan and I would like to thank Kaye and Ilham for everything they have done for us and giving us this opportunity! you both have made drama so awesome! SA is a family with you guys around! i (we) just hope that we can fill those huge shoes!! Thank you!!

Alright so we are your heads of drama!! YAY!! I guess many of you would have lots of questions about what drama would be like and everything but of course starting with when is the next session!

We have decided to start drama this sat! Its not going to be just any session! its going to be a Christmas party! Also we would have a lot of things to discuss to you guys about since you all are going to be year 2s soon!! no more year 1s…you might have to cut down the playing and fooling around just slightly…get ready to welcome new year 1s to stage arts!

There will be a lot to prepare for this Saturday.

Secondly we would like to know what you think about us and what you want for drama.

The following are questions we would like you to answer

pls write it down or type it out. Write your name on it! Do take this seriously cuz if you don’t we will be forced to give you a one on one interview. Both of us figured that it would be easier for all of you to open up if it was in writing and if it is confidential.

Seal the answers in an envelope or just bring it on sat we will have envelopes for you guys. It will be read by both the us and the committee. Be truthful and honest. Even if it is going to be hurtful for any one of us, we want to know so that we can change.

1. Can you commit to stage arts? (we know some of you are working and some have things on but for those who are not working or have not excuse please decide now if you can commit or if you want to stay in SA Drama because being a year 2 your commitment must be there)

2. What are your opinions of me and Hazwan as your heads? Do you have problems with us? What do you expect from us?

3. What are your opinions of the committee members?

4. Do you have any problems within your current batch, i.e, any ongoing feuds with certain people or who you cannot work with. Or do you know someone who cannot work with you?

5. If you do have to work with them how would you feel about that? Would you go to the extremes and possibly quit?

6. What do you expect from StageArts as a whole?

Hey ya'll drama people, it's your new ASS HEAD (I mean asst. head) speaking! Hahaha. Well, on a serious note, I would like to express my gratitude and honour for being (one of the two) chosen to lead drama next year.

First and foremost, to my Year 1's (or should I say soon-to-be Year 2's). I know that there is still a lot of catching up we can do, as I have not been working very closely with you guys the past year. However, in due time, I hope, we will get to know more about each other, and I bet that together with your new Head of Drama, Sarah Jane, we will be able to lead you all to greater heights. *cues inspirational music*

Next, to my current batch of Year 2's (or should I say soon-to-be Year 3's). I don't know what more I can say. I have been enjoying every single moment that i've had working with you guys the past two years, and I hope that that remains the same for the upcoming year. The both of us (Sarah and me) are looking forward to working closely with you guys, especially those in the Committee. Again, I hope all of you will still support us and come for drama sessions. If not we'll both be very paranoid (inside joke).

So do come for this Saturday's drama session, as we have something special planned for you (for more information refer to Sarah Jane's blog post).

HEY GUYS!

This would be my last post in this blog before i officially hand everything down to SARAH JANE and HAZWAN TAN.

For my... oh not MINE anymore... to the year ones going to year TWOs. I hope that you have enjoyed this year with us, as much as we have enjoyed having fun with you guys. I hope that i'll still see you guys performing next year when i come see your events! It has been a fun year and even though it was a very fast one, you guys would all have a place in my heart. =)

For the new batch of year 3s... I have nothing to say except... I love you guys. I WILL miss every single one of you AND i believe that you guys would do a BETTER job than my batch. So next year production must be better than Faces of War ok? hehe. No pressure to the 2 drama heads lah of course... nooooooooo pressure at all. hehehe.

So this is it. My last act as drama head is to tell you guys that each and everyone of you are talented in your own ways. All of you still have room to shine brighter so do me and the other year 3s proud next year!

Hey Guys!

Ok so this Saturday, drama session is a must come. Why?

Cos it's your last drama session with both Me and Ilham.

Yeap. Last drama session with us. Most of you are probably very happy about that. haha.

So yes, this Saturday, we'll be doing something a little bit different for drama. So if you don't come, then you'll be missing out on all the action! So please come punctually for drama this Saturday. Those who tend to come late, come earlier. It's not fair for those who always come early and have to wait for you guys.

For my year 2s who haven't conducted any drama sessions, good news for you, you won't have to conduct anymore. Instead, i need you guys to come half an hour earlier at 10.30 am. SHARP. If you're unable to come, please inform either me or Ilham. It's compulsory to come down unless you have a valid reason.

ALUMNI NIGHT DETAILS:

Some of you were asking me about it so here's some brief details about the event. Neela would further explain this Saturday.

When: 11th december, Friday

Where: Dome

Time: From 6 onwards til late. Some of you would be given excuse letters so that you guys can help out in the decorations and stuff.

What is the event about: We're handing over to the year 2s!!! The year ones and twos would have a play of your own. You guys would just have to wait and see what we year 3s are gonna do.

NOTE: Angel and Azizzi, you have yet to come back to me with your alumni night synopsis and people involved.

Year 2s please make sure that your alumni night play preparation is on the right track.

Ok so what's the next MAJOR event???? Actually it would the FINAL major event of the year...

ALUMNI NIGHT 2009.

Yeap. Alumni night would be the night where we Year 3s would be stepping down and handing our respective posts to the current batch of year 2s.

Exciting Stuff.

SO.... What are your roles during alumni night?

As i told those who came for drama on Saturday.....

Year ones, you guys would have your own play. You guys would have to come up with a 20 mins skit that should go along with the theme of Alumni night which i would let your leaders know. Appointed leader would be Angel and her assistant would be Azizzi.

As for the Year twos... i've talked to you guys already, you all know what to do. =)

In other news, we are making our very own Drama shirt! Yes, the year 2s would know that we've been planning for a shirt for like millions of years but never actually happened. So we are hoping to send in the designs for printing by next week and get it just in time for Alumni night.

The shirt would cost less than $20.

There would be no drama this Saturday due to Friday being Hari Raya Haji. =)

It's 18 more days till Alumni Night so..... who do you think would be the next head and Asst. head of drama? Any guesses ? Tell us who you think would be the next heads of drama on the tag board. =)

Next, NYPTV.

NYPTV needs around 10 - 15 actors to help them out in one of their shows. They just need these actors to act either as bad singers or good singers. HEY GUYS!!!!!

Hmmm. Where to start?

No words can describe how proud i am of every single one of you guys. You helped bring our vision to life and for that we are very very greatful.

To my leads.....

I am so proud that all of you pulled it off! I think that all of you have improved a lot during the time that we've worked with you. Even though some of you were not there for some days/weeks due to projects, assignments and what nots it was great to see that you guys improved all by yourself when you guys couldn't make it. You took our comments and worked on whatever needed working on and came back each rehearsals looking better. =D You guys should reallyproud of yourselvesbecause i've been getting great comments from those who watched the show. Some comments includes -

Nadeen can talk? wow. I'm impressed (yes nadeen, who knew you'd open up so much)
Hanaffi was impressive.
"the girl... named margy, was the best actress of the night! *CLAPS CLAPS*" (quoted from some blog)
WAH SEH AMALINA. There were some guys who wanted your number. haha (Don't be jealous vicky. Your indian boy will come soon enough)
The mother was good! Not bad for a year one. (and some even said that you look like Anjana, our previous drama head. 0.0)

"My favourite characters were the 4 Mindless Beings! They were so...... [too lazy to type out all.lol]" (brochure's fault for you guys being known as mindless beings. hahahaha -.-)

MY SUPPORTING CAST + CIVILIANS + SOLDIERS + Scene 9 drama ppl

YAY! you guys made it through! Lol. I know production rehearsals are never easy and are often tiring. There are always times when you guys have to wait for long periods of time before i can do your scenes. But i am really very glad that most of you took the initiative to rehearse by yourselves and help each other get better in your scenes. i think that you guys are ready for even bigger oppurtunities =)

PROPS.

Neela, Jac and Sarah Jane and your team... What can i say, without the props and the props team, this production wouldn't be happening at all. I must give props to the props team (HAHA) for following every single one of our demands, changes and what-nots. Even though there were some cock-ups here and there, ITS OK. I know you guys did your best.

COSTUMES.

Sheila, Julyha and your team... wow. I'm actually impressed at how you all organised yourselves when it came to costumes and i'm glad that you guys took the initiative to approach me if you had any queries or if i had forgotten a particular costume cos i tend to forget at time 0.0 . hehe. So yea, even though costumes was a bit rushed, im glad you guys pulled through. And special thanks to MADAME AZIZA and Arati for helping with the sewing. And of course to Ilham's sewing machine... May it Rest in Peace.

All in all, i think that Faces of War was a GREAT success and i will be keeping you guys updated on the comments made by audiences. =)

Video has already been burned into a dvd and the photos taken are being edited so If you want a copy of the Video and the Photos, come find me.

I'll be in school tomorrow to clean up the club room, store room and E315 so i need HELP. yeap. Neela, Sarah Jane, Jac and maybe Julyha, you guys are coming. I need more help unfortunately. So please, if you're free, come down at 12pm tmr at club room to help out! =)

Now that production's done, i bet you people will miss rehearsals and most importantly the people you have worked with in this production, cos i'll definitely miss it all.

It is THE week!

Yeap. It's TFA week and rehearsals this week would be tougher than usual.

Schedule for this week is as follows:

On monday i want my civillians to bring your costumes. Yeap. the 3 sets of clothes i asked for. We're gonna do alterations to it.

HEY PEOPLE!

PRODUCTION 09 IS COMING SOON!

NINE MORE REHEARSAL DAYS!

So.. I need people who HAVE MIA to start coming for rehearsals.

Besides my usual LEADS, i need my supporting casts to come FROM TOMORROW ONWARDS - unless of course you have told me beforeheand that you're not able to come.

BEN, SINDHU, GURINDER, HANISAH, ELLIOT, TRISHNA, FILZA, AMAN!! Please come tomorrow. It is really very very difficult to conduct rehearsals with missing people.

From this FRIDAY ONWARDS, i want EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU GUYS TO COME DOWN. Even if you have a super small role or a super big one,you have to come down. If you can't come, please give me a valid excuse.

This saturday please keep your WHOLE DAY free! We're gonna try to conduct run throughs with the dancers so please come.

In case some of you NEVER READ the previous post, rehearsals this week are from 3pm onwards. What time rehearsal stops, depends on how much we finish. Saturday, rehearsals would start at 10 am and would end late. Venue would be at blk e level 3

Ok now time for next announcement! TICKETS!

This FRIDAY, i would be asking how many tickets each of you want. However, the number of tickets you ask for might not be the amount you get cos of the theatre for the arts can only fit 300-320 people. And if you don't come this friday, i'd take it that you don't want any tickets at all (This doesn't apply to those who gave me valid reasons for not coming on friday). More details about ticketing would be given out this friday.

Oh and one last thing.... For the whole of next week, BLOCK IT OUT FOR DRAMA REHEARSALS. Don't make any plans at all. Next week would be intensive rehearsals in the TFA. So it is a must for you guys to come.

HEY GUYS!

Omg. Production is like less than 3 weeks away! And we need to get rehearsals starting properly soon!

I know most of my leads would have finished exams by this friday so i need the people in scenes 1 - 10 to come down this friday at 3pm and saturday at 10 am.

I will no longer tolerate absence without reasons or coming late. It has come to a point where everyone has to start taking REHEARSALS VERY VERY SERIOUSLY. If you are not coming PLEASE inform ME AND ILHAM. And we will not accept excuses such as "i'm going out with friends". For this two weeks, we're asking you guys to give your full attention to production because it is a big event to showcase YOUR talents to people.

From next monday onwards, there would be rehearsals everyday from 3pm onwards. What time will rehearsals end? It all depends on how fast our progress is and how much we can do. So please, do not come late. If you come late, the rest would have to wait and we'll never get things done.

As for photoshoot, i've smsed the people involved in it. Location would be at a super ulu, desertd area near school. Everyone is supposed to meet outside clubroom at 7:30 AM for make up. So to those who i smsed. Report at 7.30am. costumes wise, i will discuss with you seperately.

I know most of you start exams/common tests this week. Sosince studies comes first, there would be no rehearsals this week except for FRIDAY and SATURDAY.

On Friday and Saturday i need my leads, soldiers, scene 8 and scene 10 people to come.

If you haven't heard yet (Meaning, you never come last week for drama), Drama sessions are on hold til after Production. Yeap. But tomorrow, Rehearsals are still on.

Scene 9 and 10 people, you guys know that you have to come. =) Please come at 10am - meet at the atrium

My scene 8 people and Soldiers (BEN, KWAN, ELLIOT, NADEEN, AMAN) have to come as well. please come at 11am at the atrium

For those of you who have not given me their exam schedule, please do so BY TOMORROW. You guys won't want me to chase you for it.

New update: I just realized (thanks to Jac) that i ddnt include the time and venue. all rehearsals would start at 7pm at E308. If you finish early, you guys can go down to E308 to see if it's open already. =)

ONE more month and it's production! Yeap. 12 SEPTEMBER. Mark it down on your calendar. So Don't make vacation plans on that week! Cos that is the first week of the holidays. That whole week block it off for intense rehearsals.

Ok, so I know that it's already that time of the semester that everyone likes... EXAM PERIOD. (hehe) And i know that it's gonna be difficult to meet up for rehearsals as all of you would want to mug for your exams. And with everyone becoming sick one by one and not being able to come, it's very hard to have proper rehearsals. SOOOOO, i seek your cooperation to work with Ilham and i this week so we can get most of the scenes done. MUST COME. Unless you have valid reasons. Valid reasons such as MC, Doctor visit, operation, Family problems would be accepted. I would not accept reason such as i'm not feeling well. Unless you feel like you're dying; can't walk/stand/eat/blink/talk, then you're excused.

This is the schedule for this week unless of course, You've already messaged me that you can't make it.

Firstly, I need my Soldiers to come this whole week:

Nadeen, Aman, Kwan, Elliot, Ben, Nadzeef, Hanaffi, Joseph Gomez and Fin

My leading ladies and MBs as well (Please come this whole week):

As for my Head of Props & Costumes, i've contacted you guys already and you know what you have to do. Any questions, come to me straight.

Important announcement!!

Tomorrow at 1.30 pm please go down to the atrium and SUPPORT STAGEARTS DRAMA!!!!
So, come down earlier to book your place in the audience and give support to the year 2s who are acting! Oh, and drag your friends, teacher, family, maid, boy friend, girl friend or animal friend... along to support us!

WE are gonna be part of a competition called PERFORMANCE IDOL. We would be up against MCG, ICG and WUSHU. So please COME DOWN AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR US!

We have to win this cos Drama is obviously the best! xD

And for my year 2s and 3s... We have to win THIS cos remember Club Crawl? uh huh. This is where we show them where they went wrong! HAHA.

Hey guys!

I think most of you should know by now that production has been POSTPONED. Yeap. Cos of the swine flu outbreak in singapore, we are forced to postpone production to the 12th of September. It would be a Saturday afternoon. More details will come when production date is coming nearer.

This is a blessing in disguise, cos it would mean that we have more time to prepare and make this year's production a successful one!

So since production is postponed, we would be re-starting drama sessions! yay! haha. Only difference is that drama sessions would be every saturday from 11am onwards. After each session would be rehearsals straight. So please come down this Saturday for Drama! I have got important announcement to make. Remember when i released the roles for productions, i said that everyone of you will have your time on stage? Well, this Saturday, i'm gonna be telling those without roles YET what your role would be in production. So it is very important that every single one of you turn up this saturday. Unless of course you've got valid reason then please inform ME AND ILHAM why you can't come.

DRAMA REHEARSAL WILL NOT BE CHANGED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE OKAY =D.

Hey guys!

I want to congratulate every single performer for a JOB WELL DONE for all 3 JP performance. Youu guys rocked the stage!

OK... we have got bad news. Our lunch time performances have been cut down/postponed due to the swine flu. As of now, the only confirmed performance would be on the 29th of JULY which is an NDP event. That performance would be by the YEAR 2s and 3s. For now, there's no news on whether they would replace our canceled time slots or not, but fret not, you guys would still be busy preparing for PRODUCTION 09! =)

For this week's production rehearsal, since we can't go to school to rehearse, we would be going to scout for an alternative place to rehearse. So if you guys have any CONSTRUCTIVE ideas, then please do tell me. =) We would be informing u guys by tomorrow night where our rehearsal would be. It should be somewhere near school.

Just an update on the performances we have for these 3months. Yes! Everyone would have a chance to be on stage! We are quite jam packed so prepare yourselves!

Jurong Point performance:

26th, 27th, 28th JUNE

Grouping:

Group 1 -Neela, Suma, Nadhirah, Nadeen - Mardiana, Insyeerah, Julie, Gurinder, Shawn, Ying Si, Luqman, Rachel and Fin

Group 2 - Julyha, Vicki, Jac, Arati - Joseph, Cheryl, Hemant, Nigel, Nabilah, Amber, Patrick, Hanisah, Khush, Stella, Trishna

Group 3 - Hanaffi, Hanisah, Amalina (WITHOUT THE H), David, Sheila - Benjamin, Davin, Jing Ru, Andrea, Boris, Sullivan, Aman, Filzah, Shalini, Kwan

Please work hard for these performances! Don't let this oppurtunity go to waste. It's not everyday that we get to perform for outside audiences!

LUNCHTIME PERFORMANCES:

FOUR days in July

There would be 2 year 1 performances (meaning that you guys would be seperated into 2 groups), one year 2 and one year 3 performace. Grouping wise would be done by us and you'll know what group you're in... soon.

Annual Production:
7th August.

Everyone is to come for drama this saturday. My main and supporting cast and my props, costume and publicity teams- Your respective heads will be in contact with you guys soon. =)

Hey guys!

For those of you who are coming for rehearsals this Wednesday. The venue will be confirmed tomorrow during the CAMP MEETING. Rehearsals will start at 7 pm. You guys can bring and eat your dinner while waiting for me to arrive.

For those in the props, costumes and publicity committee, please don't be too disheartened about not getting a role in production! You guys will still be there on stage because we would need a lot of other supporting casts. We believe that in a play, the nitty bitty details, no matter how small the part may be, is as important as everything else.

And there are other performances lined up for you guys. There's still lunch time performances and of course the Jurong Point performance (this is very hard to come by)

So yea, work hard in you respective roles guys! We'll make this production a GREAT SUCCESS!

This meeting is COMPULSORY. Attendance will be taken.

Sorry for posting this REALLY late.

As was mentioned on Saturday, there will be a drama meeting on MONDAY 1st June at 6.30pm.
Venue is OUTSIDE the CLUBROOM which is at Block E level four, opposite the entrance of the Student Admin Office (well, you guys should know right?)

Why is this meeting important?

It will be the AUDITION RESULTS (JENG JENG JENG!)

Thus it is required that EVERYONE (year 1s & year 2s) to be present.

However, if you really cannot make it, with a really valid reason, please do inform either Kaye or I (Ilham, sexual chocolate) ASAP.

StageArts camp09 is coming soon and we need to know if you're gonna be able to make it or not.
The tentative camp days are on the 12th, 13th and 14th of June 2009.
It would be during the first week of semester break.
So please keep those dates free ok!
Please drop me an sms or a msg on msn to tell me if you CAN or CANNOT make it for camp and what is your SHIRT SIZE (S, M, L) by latest tomorrow morning.

AUDITIONS 09:

To those of you who have already gone for auditions, we want to say thank you for coming
down and that you guys did a great job! Results will come out soon but first we need to make
another round of auditions just to help us have a clearer view of what role you can get for this
year's production. So TOMORROW, for those of you who can come down, please come down for the Auditions part 2.
And since we're having a second round of auditions, results would be given out on Monday.

For those who are not able to make it, it's ok. =).

Anyway... I hope you guys have had a good rest cos now, it's time for....

DRAMA AUDITIONS for this year's ANNUAL PRODUCTION!

Yeap, this year's drama production would be UNLIKE the rest. We're going to be trying new approaches on stage. And like every year, we promise that it would be a very ENRICHING, FUN and GREAT experience for everyone!

Auditions would be held later this week - On Thursday OR Friday night for the year ones. You guys can choose either days to audition. Please inform me or ilham on which days you want to audtion BY TUESDAY 12 midnight or you won't be able to audition.

NOTE: NO DRAMA SESSION THIS WEDNESDAY. THIS WEEK IS AUDITIONS WEEK!

HELLO people!

To year ones, if this is your first time visiting the blog, a warm welcome to you guys! This is where we would be updating you on when and where drama is and what time it would be. So please constantly check the blog for updates!

Ok so the next drama session would be this Saturday at BLK E Level 3 at 11.30 am.

If you are in MCH, Neera your MCH head will release you guys at a certain time. She will update you guys on saturday it self.

So come punctually at 11.30 am on Saturday and please come dressed comfortably! It's gonna be a hot day this Saturday!
